Supporting Madison FFA’s New Barn Project

Cardinal Home Center was proud to support Madison County FFA’s new Animal Systems barn, which opened with a ribbon-cutting on Thursday, April 2.

Our Madison store, led by Store Manager Matt Utz, donated about $800 in materials to help complete the project. The donation included 5/8″ T1-11 siding, wood framing, metal roofing, hardware, and paint for the siding.

The new barn replaces what was once known as the “sorghum shack.” Now, it provides a functional space for students to work with livestock. Students will use the facility for hands-on agricultural education and Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAE). The barn will house animals such as pigs, rabbits, and poultry.

This project came together through strong community and alumni support. As a result, students now have a space that will benefit them for years to come.

Meanwhile, FFA members have already started purchasing pigs for this year’s projects. Over the next few months, they will raise and care for them in preparation for the fair. These projects teach responsibility, daily care, and the effort it takes to raise quality livestock.

Matt attended the ribbon-cutting alongside students, advisors, and community members who helped make the project possible.

Cardinal Home Center was glad to be part of this project and support the next generation of agriculture in Madison County.
