A few weeks ago, Curt sold material to build supports for the oldest Katsura trees at the Dumbarton Oaks Garden in Washington, D.C. This technique of building supports comes from Japan, and the supports are called Hoozue. They’re a strategy for conserving old trees. The supports allow the branches to spend their energy making more leaves, producing more energy overall and strengthening the whole tree.
