Weyerhaeuser’s success starts at an early stage through sustainable forest management. Foresters and scientists at Weyerhaeuser use site preparation methods that are tailored to ensure the successful regeneration of each unique harvest area. They plant pine seedlings in rows by hand or using machines; once these trees are between 10 and 15 years old, they thin the stands to reduce competition among the remaining trees and accelerate their growth into quality saw-timber. The result is a continuous cycle of sustainable forest management.

Their patented computerized grading system—the result of 10 years in testing—goes far beyond visual grading capabilities to ensure that every piece starts straight and stays straight.
For homeowners, Weyerhaeuser creates a peace of mind that your home will not run into issues for years to come. Our employees have tested Weyerhaeuser’s Framer Series lumber, and we have seen a visible difference in its performance. Install Framer Series on one floor and standard framing lumber on the other and look down a hallway. Framer Series will be visibly straighter than other framing lumbers.
For contractors, Framer Series saves time on the job site. Crowns on the board are marked to eliminate guess work on site, reducing cull lumber. Their technology also comes into play. At the mill, computer software analyzes each board to determine if the lumber will twist or bend. It can tell operators information not visible to the naked eye, ensuring you get a quality board. For their 2×8, 2×10, and 2×12 lumber, their product is stronger than a #2 yellow pine, which is especially important for studs and beams.
Treated Framer Series at Cardinal Home Center
We are one of only a few local companies that can treat our lumber before it is sold and the only company that carries treated Weyerhaeuser Framer Series lumber. Our lumber is treated locally at Madison Wood Preservers, where their wood is treated with preservatives and mold inhibitors and then dried using two powered dry kilns.
