Whether you are updating one room, building a new deck, changing the layout of your home or planning a larger renovation, Cardinal Home Center can help you find the right materials for the job.
Our team works with homeowners and contractors on kitchen remodels, bathroom updates, whole-house renovations, additions, structural projects, exterior improvements and more.
Bring us your ideas, photos, measurements or plans. We will help you figure out what materials you may need, what should be ordered early and the best way to move forward.

More Than Materials
A remodel usually involves more decisions than it seems at first.
Products need to fit the space, work together, and arrive when your contractor is ready. Some materials may be stocked locally, while others require measurements, design work, or additional lead time. Once walls or floors are opened, you may also find repairs or structural work that was not visible before the project began.
Instead of tracking down materials from several places, start with one local team to help you plan the order. We can help you compare products, prepare material takeoffs, place special orders, and schedule deliveries around different stages of the job.
What Are You Remodeling?
Kitchen Remodels
A better kitchen starts with thinking about how you want the room to work.
Do you need more storage? A better place to prepare meals? More room for entertaining? Easier access to the appliances and items you use every day?
Our kitchen designers will talk through how you cook, entertain, and use the space. From there, they can help you plan the cabinet layout, appliance placement, work areas, storage, countertops, and finishes.
Customers receive kitchen layouts and 3-D designs. In-home consultations are also available so our designers can see the existing space and take measurements.
Cardinal can help with cabinets, countertops, backsplashes, sinks, faucets, flooring, tile, paint, trim, hardware, and other kitchen remodeling materials.
Decks and Outdoor Living
Whether you are replacing worn deck boards, rebuilding an existing deck, or creating a new outdoor living space, choosing the right materials makes a difference.
Cardinal offers pressure-treated lumber, as well as composite and PVC decking from leading brands. Our team can help you compare wood and low-maintenance options, look at colors and railing styles, select the right fasteners, and prepare a material takeoff for the project.
We also carry structural lumber, connectors, railing, stains, exterior finishes, and other materials needed to bring the project together.
Whole-House Renovations
A larger renovation may involve materials for several rooms and different stages of construction.
Cardinal can help supply framing lumber, engineered wood products, windows, exterior doors, roofing, siding, cabinets, countertops, flooring, interior doors, trim, paint, hardware, and other building materials.
We can also prepare framing or full-build material takeoffs from your plans. This gives you and your contractor a clearer picture of what the job may require before ordering materials.
Need materials at different points in the project? Separate loads can be scheduled based on your order, product availability, and jobsite needs.
Bathroom Remodels
A bathroom needs products that look good, hold up to daily use, and work well in a humid space.
Cardinal can help with vanities, countertops, flooring, wall and floor tile, backsplashes, paint, doors, trim, faucets and bath hardware.
Benjamin Moore Aura Bath & Spa is a durable matte paint made for humid bathrooms and other high-moisture spaces.
Product selection varies by location. Madison and Crozet have Moen faucet displays and stocked products. Schluter Systems can be special ordered through Crozet and Greenbrier for applicable tile and waterproofing projects.
Other Remodel Projects
Not every remodel fits neatly into one room. Cardinal also works with customers planning:
- Home additions and structural changes
- Window and exterior door replacements
- Roofing and siding updates
- Interior door and trim projects
- Flooring and tile updates
- Exterior repairs and improvements
- Room layout changes
- Smaller updates that do not require a complete tear-out
Some projects begin with a full set of plans. Others begin with a photo, a damaged area, or a room that no longer works for the household.

Advice From Our Team
Our team works with homeowners and contractors on remodels every day. Two of the most important things they recommend are thinking through how the space needs to work and planning ahead for surprises.
Think About How You Use the Space
Cardinal cabinet designer Dianna Campagna starts by asking how customers use the room now and what they want the remodel to improve.
Do you need more storage? Better flow? More room to cook or entertain? Would a few targeted updates solve the problem, or does the space need a larger change?
Plan Ahead
Cardinal sales associate Annita Steppe recommends planning for more than what you can see. Removing a wall, floor or finish may uncover framing problems, moisture or other repairs that need to be handled before the visible part of the remodel can move forward.
Talk with your contractor about possible structural needs, the work schedule, and when materials will be needed. It is also smart to leave some room in the budget and timeline for the unexpected.
Planning a structural change? Your contractor or engineer will need to determine what the project requires. Once you have the specifications, our team can help supply the materials.
