Employee Spotlight: Teresa O’Donnell
Meet Teresa, a dedicated and friendly face (and voice!) you might not always see on the sales floor. Nevertheless, she plays a vital role behind the scenes at Cardinal Home Center!
Teresa is a Madison native. She raised her two children (now with two adorable granddaughters in the mix!) with her husband Jesse, who’s also part of the Cardinal Home Center family.
For an impressive 22 years, Teresa has been our reliable go-to Accounts Payable whiz, keeping things running smoothly at the Madison branch, Staunton, and Waynesboro paint stores. She’s also the mastermind behind processing those payables checks that keep everyone happy!
Starting out answering phones, Teresa quickly found her niche in A/P. But what keeps her going? You guessed it – her amazing co-workers, some of whom she’s known for years. That’s the Cardinal Home Center family spirit!
Like anyone, Teresa has faced challenges, especially when mastering new software programs. But with training and a hands-on approach, she tackles them head-on! She’s learned a valuable lesson through it all: the paperwork never ends (even in slow times), but that keeps things interesting!
When Teresa isn’t at work, she loves spending time with loved ones, getting lost in a good book, and whipping up new recipes in her free time. Regarding sports, she’s a die-hard UVA men’s basketball fan (Go Hoos!).
Fun fact: Don’t be fooled by the invoices and checks! Teresa’s a bit of a secret investigator when solving paperwork puzzles. And here’s something that might surprise you: she and Jesse have been to the beautiful Hawaiian islands twice – once on their honeymoon and another adventure before the kids arrived (BC, as Teresa puts it!).
At the end of the day, Teresa’s happiest at home. But we’re so grateful to have her as part of the Cardinal Home Center family, keeping our financial ship sailing smoothly!
