Emmet Aylor, Marketing Assistant and The Man Behind the Camera

While he may be somewhat new to Cardinal Home Center, Emmet Aylor has deep roots – he started working at the Madison store stocking shelves on breaks from college. After graduating from Christopher Newport University in 2020 with degrees in marketing and business management, he returned to Cardinal working out of our Crozet store, this time in a full-time role as a Marketing Assistant and has been loving it since.

“It feels good to be back, surrounded by familiar faces and doing something I love,” Emmet remarked in our conversation with him. “Many of my co-workers are also family members, so it feels good to work with great company.” Along with his dad and brother, he has many cousins and uncles working at Cardinal – a true family affair. He has also made many new friendships with employees and connected with them more during his time.

A typical day for Emmet is anything but ordinary. Due to the flexible nature of the role, he balances his time managing social media platforms, conducting data analysis, responding to customer questions, and anything else the role brings. He has been busy working with our intern, Maggie Glass, to start producing a new podcast for the company, Cardinal Corner. “This has been amazing to work on – I am excited for the broader community to get to know our sales team more in-depth.”

Outside of work, Emmet finds joy in cheering on the UVA Men’s Basketball Team (Go Hoos!), hanging out with family and friends, and giving back to the community, specifically supporting high school graduates pursuing careers in technical education fields. Like any other twenty-somethings, he also likes to binge-watch shows on Netflix and relax with family.

As we wrapped up, we asked Emmet if there was anything surprising, we might not know about him. He mentioned he had taken a trip to Europe in high school, exploring the sights and scenes of France, Italy, and Greece.
