Employee Spotlight: Alex Frazier
Cardinal Home Center’s Employee Spotlight series aims to highlight the talented individuals who dedicate their time to our business. Each month, we feature an employee on our website. This month’s spotlight features Alex Frazier from our Charlottesville location. Through his short time here at Cardinal Home Center, Alex has gotten quickly up to speed on how to help customers with their next paint project, from picking the right Benjamin Moore product to learning more about their other paint and stain needs!

How long have you worked with Cardinal?
I have been at the Charlottesville location for a year and a half.
What was your background or experience before working at Cardinal?
Before joining the Cardinal team, I worked in the service industry.
What is your area of expertise at Cardinal Home Center?
I specialize in Benjamin Moore paint and stains.
This month, we are focusing on refinishing hardwood floors. What advice do you have for someone working on this project, and what tips do you have for it?
Before starting, it is important to clean your floors well and sand them to remove any existing finish. When working, you want to keep your dust to a minimum, as that can cause problems when applying your stain. We typically recommend applying 3 coats of polyurethane. If you have any questions on what is the best to do, don’t hesitate to call any of our stores – we will be happy to help!
What types of stains do you recommend for hardwood floors?
I typically find that Zar is a better product, as it provides richer and deeper color and has a wider variety. However, we also recommend Minwax products if you are looking for a more natural look to your hardwood floors.
What do you enjoy most about working at Cardinal Home Center?
I really love the sense of a work family we have. We work hard, but we also have a lot of laughs, I go home every day and feel proud about what I do.
