Employee Spotlight: Meet Bobby Simmons!
If you’ve visited with Cardinal Home Center, especially in the Staunton area, you’ve probably crossed paths with this friendly face. Bobby’s been a fixture in the local construction scene for a long time, and he’s got a story that’ll make you smile.
So, how did he get here? Well, Bobby’s journey started way back in ’89 with Allied Ready Mix, diving headfirst into the world of concrete and precast. When things shifted, and he found himself surrounded by contractors he already knew, jumping into contractor sales made sense. And honestly, he loves it! “Seeing that they are happy with our product and service,” he says, is the best part of his job.
Now, a typical day for Bobby? It’s a whirlwind of keeping in touch with clients, ensuring projects are running smoothly, and generally being a go-to guy. Sure, there are challenges, like figuring out all the ins and outs of windows and doors, but he’s not afraid to ask for help from the experts on his team. He’s a big believer in staying up-to-date with all the new products.
Speaking of new things, Bobby’s super excited about the big expansion happening at the Staunton location. “The new look and space for more items,” he tells us, is something he knows customers will love. He’s all about making sure you can find what you need with the knowledge and service you deserve.
For Bobby, building strong relationships is key. He wants to ensure that every contractor gets top-notch products and service. And he’s got a pet peeve: “Not accurate information or wrong information.” He’s all about getting it right! At the end of the day, a happy customer makes his job worthwhile.
When he’s not helping contractors, you’ll find Bobby tackling outdoor chores around the house. He loves cutting firewood and mowing the grass. And here’s a fun fact: he doesn’t mind cleaning up a mess. He’s happiest when he’s having fun, and if he could build his dream home, it would definitely have “lots of views and space.”
