Meet Michael 

Originally from Staunton, VA, Michael is a proud graduate of James Madison University. A big sports fan, he cheers for the Green Bay Packers and the Washington Capitals. When he’s not at work, he’s preparing for an exciting milestone—his wedding in June!

Michael’s Journey with Cardinal

Michael joined the Cardinal Home Center family on October 5, 2023. Since then, he’s been an integral part of our paint department, assisting customers with everything from color matches to large paint orders. His day typically involves preparing daily quotes for clients, managing paint orders of all sizes, and helping with inventory tasks.

What He Loves About His Role

For Michael, the best part of his job is the people. “We have a good group here and get along well,” he shares. This camaraderie, coupled with his growing expertise in paint products, allows him to guide customers to the best choices for their projects confidently.

Expert Advice from Michael

Michael emphasizes the importance of lighting and sheen when helping customers choose the right paint color or finish. “I help them understand how light affects color and explain the uses of different sheens,” he says. His go-to advice for first-time painters? “Take your time, do your research, ask questions, and focus on quality.” Michael keeps his knowledge fresh by adopting a simple yet effective approach: “Look, listen, and learn whenever I can.”

Favorite Paint Choices and Trends

If he could paint his entire home in one Benjamin Moore color? “Paper White walls, white trim, and white ceilings—because that’s what my fiancé wanted,” he says with a smile. As for trends, White Dove has been a popular choice among customers since he started.

Life Beyond Work

Outside of Cardinal, Michael enjoys watching sports, tackling home projects, and spending time with friends and family. Fun fact: he has a cat! Michael feels happiest when “bills are paid, and there’s a fun weekend ahead.”
