Are you ready for the Thanksgiving holiday? It will be here before you know it! Before you start inviting family and friends over, we have a few tips and tricks to get your home ready for November!

1) Replace Siding

Check your exterior siding for any holes or knicks or any damage from the past year. You may need to order some new siding. Bring in a sample to Cardinal, and we can show you options that can be special ordered! We carry a variety of siding nails, as well as J channels and other siding accessories!

2) Update Outdoor Lighting

Create a welcoming sense of home this holiday season by updating your outdoor lighting! Our Madison and Crozet stores carry security lighting to update your exterior, as well as floodlights and other bulbs! These lighting updates can provide safety for family members who may not be as comfortable walking when dark.

3) Stock Up on Extension Cords

In November, some homeowners start using extension cords to put up holiday decorations – from inflatables in the yard to decking the halls inside with trees and more! 4) Prep Your Yard for Winter

This month is the last opportunity to get your yard ready before we get too deep into winter! Wait and prep your yard until after the trees drop all of their leaves and are dormant. Make sure you remove any leaves with STIHL leaf blowers and cut back any limbs that could cause damage by falling on your home with STIHL’s chainsaws and trimmers!
